White bread is okay, but not very nutritious. I would only feed as a treat once in a while. Check the ingredients for unsafe items like preservatives. It probably contains sugar or corn syrup which you want to try to avoid when possible.

the day after i gave my hermies a piece of bread, i read somewhere that bread could kill them by sticking to their mouth.

white bread shouldn't have much, if any, preservatives....right? i want to try honey once time. i love honey, but i have a certain kind that i can't find anywhere now. i'm not happy. mine seemed to like unsweetened applesauce also.

You might be surprised at the amount of preservatives and sugars in white bread, but you have to check the label for exact ingredients of that particular brand or variety.
