Changed the substrate today, and instead of 3 PP's (have had for over 2 years now), could only find 2. There was NO evidence of the 3rd crabbie ANYWHERE. NOTHING! It's like he/she vaporized into thin air. There's no way it could have gotten out, and one would think I'd find some clue as to it's whereabout left behind. Any ideas or clues?
Thanks!

did you check the substrate carwefully? i would look on wood peices, sometimes they cling to those when you clean out the tank.
check the room te tank is in, hermeis have these secret ways or excaping. I hope you can find the 3rd hermie!

Missing In Action--Part II
We sifted through the old sand substrate. The only thing we found was a "'toe" or tip of one leg. But that could have been from a molt of any of the three of them.
The tank is sealed with a glass top and there's a board on it so that our cats can sit on the tank without injuring themselves or the tank. The missing crab could not have escaped the tank.
I'm now thinking, and this is rather gruesome, that perhaps it molted and one or both of the other crabs got to it before I knew what was going on. Is that a possibility?
