How much do I need to put into food bowl
Most of the time I can't really tell that the crabs have eaten any of the food I've left for them. The exceptions are honey and tilapia. I just got a new order of a big variety of crab foods and don't want to waist it. I have 6 small purple pinchers (I think ). How much should I be putting in their dish each day?

Be patient. Mine, for a long time, never seemed to eat anything. At all. I seriously thought they were hunger striking. They've since grown (and I adopted a few bigger ones) and now I swear all they do is eat.
The current favorite food is eggshell. I'll take half an eggshell after cracking it into a bowl, rinse well (I use organic eggs, so I don't worry as much about bacteria, just smell), and put it in the tank. My most recently molted one has spent days just sitting at the shell, cracking off bits, and eating. He's my most scaredy crab too, and won't mind me watching it. He even slept with his head shoved into the shell. In a week, it's gone from over half of the egg's shell to just the end of it.
Other favorites are cooked fresh shrimp (I buy a few from the store and saute in olive oil, put in separate bags, and freeze) or scrambled egg. Worm castings (I get mine from the addiction store) are also like crabby crack in my tank.

I don't like to waste food either. I only put out a teaspoon of food at a time. If they gobble it up, then add more the next day. But I also recommend always having something in the tank that is edible, but not necessarily "food" such as a cholla climber or some edible bark or moss.
