I bought some Omega One 100% Natural Brown Seaweed (a box of 24 sheets) today (as I haven't had a chance to pick up any spirulina...and I figured getting some seaweed was a necessity) and was wondering if this is the right type to give them. They had green, red and brown...but were out of green. Are any of those ok to give them? I also picked up some krill and plankton...boy those smell!!
On a side note, I came home today and Blaze had moved!!! He was partially out of his shell sitting on top of the cork wood on top of the pot I'm so happy!! I was really starting to worry about him. Then when I put some krill in the dish, he turn around as if he was going to climb down the wood to go investigate (looks like he's still thinking though lol)
The other lil guy (still working on a name) is still inside the pot with his shell facing out. Took out some shells I had stuck in there and he moved yesterday...so I know he's still ok. (I re-boiled all their shells last night)

Talk about some hermies becoming spoiled rotten!!
The seaweed should be fine. I buy the Julia Sprungs two little fishes and they have 3 varieties. The red, green and purple.

I can no longer find the jars but I do buy the packages. I grind part of this up in a blender an put it in an air tight jar. I usually get about 6 grindings, I prefer doing it this way because the seaweed seems to stay fresher longer.
And I also note here that it seems the stinkier a food is, the more it gets their attention. Some foods like silversides and sardines I feed outside of the tank.
Spirulina in a health food store is quite pricey. I found a Brine shrimp and spirulina made by Hikiari http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.j ... Id=3302158

Seems like your little ones are starting to come around a little since they are moving a tad. VERY encouraging!! You're doing GREAT with them!!

Ohh how fun when they start seeming to relax! Don't you just get so tickled! And oo those little guys really are spoiled. Good for you hehe.
If your local grocery store has a health food section, head over there and see if they have spirulina in bulk. If they do, you can get a tablespoon or so (it lasts a longggg time) for hardly any money at all. You may have to put in a couple of tablespoons just so it will weigh on the scale, and it will end up being less than a dollar or two! So good luck, hope you find some spirulina.
