I just dug him up today because the tank smelt. Well the smell was from the sand! He realy isn't dead! What do I do? I gave him honey, six in. deep sand and water. I coverd the tank with a blanket.

He could me molting. Never dig up a molting crabby. Never. :D XD How is he doing now. Relax and just leave him alone. Sounds like your doing good so far. Where's the rest of the crabs? Is the one you dug up in the iso? Just tell me then I'll tell you what to do B4 you go throwing him into the iso. ;) In fact, don't even do that. Hope he pulls through okay.

Cool. Let it be on its own, don't touch it until a couple days or whenever it comes back up if its under the subtrate. Let it be.

Thank you! He is under the sand now and a alomost all the honey I gave him but he didn't come back up yesterday to eat more so I think he is eather molting the rest of the way or he is destressing form me digging him up. I just hope he makes it. Is it okey to get more hermies while he is under the sand?

I went through the same thing. Freddy's tank smelt so bad, but I think it was the sand. I was terrified he was dead. What kind of sand do you have? I am not sure what mine is because Freddy was given to me and I could not change the substrate before he dug under. I think it might be masonry sand though. I think it would be okay to get new hermies if you keep them in a separate tank. If you keep them in the same tank, the newbies might decide to molt also and might bother your molter if they happen to dig in the same place.
