Licking their eyes?

I think my hermies "lick" their eyes. I'm not too sure. It's like they lower thier eye and something under the feelers comes up and rubs the eye. So, what is this about?

Mine do that all the time! I don't know why. If i mist the tank and they get a little wet then they do it to get the water off.

Yeah, it's so odd. I was watching Jorgen von Strangle (he was actually out for once) and he started doing that. Then I was looking at Xena and Mr. Krabs and after I while they did too! It was sooo weird.

My hermit crabs have never 'licked' there eyes.... do they even have a tounge?

I've seen Greg and Gordie doing that! My guess is it was their way of cleaning their eyes off. We have eyelids to do it, but they dont. Same as how cattle clean out their noses lol
