moulting questions

Post by csw5 »

I have 6 pp's and one started buring itself and i had no iso tank at the time and had to just leave him be. I got an iso about a week after that and moved him but now he seemes unhappy and won't go into the hole i dug for him. and now i am very confuesed.

If you move a crab or dig them up after they start to moult it can stress them out so much that it can actually kill them in some instances. Make sure he has everything he needs in the iso he's in now. he may just molt on the surface. if it happens again in the main tank and you're concerned about the other crabs bothering the one molting you can cut out the middle of a plastic soda bottle and and have just the molting crab in its own little molting area in the main tank where no one can get to him.
