hey we found out yest that my dads hermie george had had a surface molt. this is the first time i have heard or seen this. we put him in iso with the exo etc.... he has been in iso 24 hrs when should he start eating exo and moving as he hasnt yet and am very worried.

It can take awhile. Depending on size they can bury and be under for months at a time. So it can take awhile for them to be back to normal and eat all the exo.

his a small hermie n is in shell on surface n still aint moved

It is a very stressful time for them. It could take a little while for him to move. It takes a lot out of them. Just let him be. He knows more about what he is doing than we do.

hey erm new question george is now active but he is naked. he is sittin in water bowl all day ontop of the sponge and has been nibbling at his exo. is this ok? i not sure what to do.

as long as he is alone or isolated he seems alright. he's eating and drinking and keeping moist. maybe when hes done nibbling you could try and hold his old shell to his abdomen and see if he hops in. tell him he cant be a nudist the other crabs are offended.

Check the old shell first and be sure there is nothing inside the shell tat could have made him leave it. I would rinse it in decholrinized water and dip himin it as wel to be sure no sand is on his abdomen and ten very carefully place his abdomen in the opening of the shell and she if he will get back into it.
