I have a medium sized hermie that molted. He had two legs missing. When he molted he regenerated all his legs and his feeder claw looks better too. He then switched shells until he became comfortable with one.
However, this same hermie is now burrying again. Is he getting ready for another molt? The only thing I can figure, he is catching up with all the growing he couldn't do before. He's getting treated very well now. We change the cage every week. Change food two to three times a week correct humidity and temp.
Can anyone confirm what I'm thinking? Or does he just want to burry himself period?
Hermit Crabs Lewis and Clark Thank You for the info.
How long ago did it molt? Sometimes they just like to bury. It could be for any reason. If they get cold they can bury, if they get hot they can bury, nervous any number of reasons. They know what they need when they need it.

Thanks, for the help. We are just going to leave him alone. We will make sure that he has the necessary food and water, and we'll keep it quite and undisturbed.
