Yes, whole wheat Ritz crackers have salt. My crabs only get them as an occaisonal treat.
I have been "crabbing" since August '06. I got off to a rough start (R.I.P Pinchy) but I am now more knowledgeable and addicted to my crabs!

Even as an occasional treat I wouldn't think that would be good. Iodized salt is bad for hermie. Jaci I personally wouldn't do that since the cracker will have the salt still in it. I buy the unsalted regular crackers and mine love those.

rasins

Post by lowee0420 »

i have been trying to introduce new food to my crabs. one or two at a time. they never seem to be interested the first time i put it in there. but after the second time i try it they investigate. my crabs seem more interested in new foods right after a bath. my crabs seem to like rasins and nuts best. im new to this so i have lots more to try. but so far this is what they like.
I have 7, 6 boys and one girl. I did what most do i got 2 then 2 more and still couldent stop and got 3 more! their names are Howard, Harriate, Stanley, skippy, Herman, Rex, & Miles. i have had howard and harriet since october 2006 and Stanley and Skippy since march 2007 and herman, rex, & miles since December 2007.

As a rule most hermies are more active after a bathe. I know this is true for mine at least and others I have talked to say the same thing. So that is a good time to introduce them to new foods. Do you have the safe food list from http://www.epicureanhermit.com ?

i printed out all the lists. once i got a good and bad foods list thats when i started introducing new foods. untill then i was not sure what i should give them to improve their diets. this site has relly helped me take better care of my crabs. i had all the basics covered but now i can give them all the extras to make them happy.
