Well, surley, you'd like to know the secret. It's not really JUST jur molting, but for an ill crab, for a molting crab...Or even, just as a weekly treat!

Here's what you do(it's simple!) :

Go in you bathroom, and turn on the HOT water. No cold, just hot. Put your hermit crab near the bathtub(not in it, or anywhere where it may fall in!), and leave her there, with her there with the door closed(or, you can stay!).

After the tub gets to abouthalf way full, turn it off. Are the mirrors steaming up? You have accomplished the task!

If the mirrors are not steaming up, then your water is not hot enough. It must be like a suana in the bathroom, so you can rise the humidity. This will help your crab in the long run, and help her produce her new exo-skeleton. And it's so simple!

after all that work, running the water, turning off the water, moving your crab, you are probably all sweaty and stinky...All theat hard work tires you out! Since the water is cooled down by now, you should just hop in and enjoy the nice warm bath...

both of my crabs became extremely active after doing this! it was nice to finally see Jilly up and about... she's soooo shy, so this was the perfect trick to get her to introduce herself! haha..

I left em in there for about 10 min... not somethin you'd wanna do everyday, but I'm sure it'd be ok as a weekly treat!

that's neat. so it's healthy? it doesn't disrupt their breathign does it? Like, the humidity being to high or whatever??

Tap water contains chlorine, and it also evaporates with water to the air. Chlorine is deadly to hermit crabs in large amounts as it is to fish. I would not recommend this treatment as it can be harmful.

i knew cholrine was bad, but i didn't know it evaporated with steam!!

i think boiling water drink water that is and doing that would work better because there is no clorine please try this and see if it works
