Hi I just bought a tank off Facebook and it is clean but I think I should clean it to be safe. I see conflicting guidelines online. What solution should I use 1-primed water
2-10 parts bleach to primed water
3-White vinegar (not dilluted)
3-Apple cider vinegar and lemon juice?
Also, can I ever use soap to clean plastic items I can't boil or food dishes that are oily if I rinse them very well?

Re: Cleaning 2nd Hand Tank
Hi Kristin, this is not my area of expertise since I bought my tank brand new, but as far as I'm aware, most crabbers use lemon juice as a basic clean. Vinegar is a milder acid than lemon juice so I think that would be an okay alternative as well; just rinse and wipe with water to remove the odour. I do not have experience using bleach. Crabbers tend to be very conservative and I do not recall anyone using bleach.
