Official crab owner 8D
Hey guys, I am now an official crab owner YAY! I have four crabs, one whom I think is an Ecuadorian and three purple pinchers. The tank is at 70 degrees in the cool side, slowly going up, and the humidity is at 80 percent and staying put. The issue right now is the Ecuadorian hasn't moved from the spot I placed him in originally, he's partly out of his shell and seems to be ok though I'm not sure, should I do anything? On the ride over everything went fine. They ate the apple I put in the travel tank happily and wandered about. Everyone else seems good and are quite busy.

Re: Official crab owner 8D
Are you helping them slowly adjust to proper conditions per the PPS (Post Purchase Stress) article? Is the substrate shallow so they cannot burrow, but have hidey area's to go to? This will help them from having their systems going into a 'shock' type state.

Re: Official crab owner 8D
I have the substrate right, I don't know the temperature to what the Ecuadorian was at because they didn't know themselves. The humidity was with the same issue. Everyone else was at the same temp and humidity I have it at now. The Ecuadorian is actually doing a lot better, he was originally in a shell that was far too small for him and now has switched into one of the green turbo ones that are slightly larger. Now he is eating. I've decided to name him Aztec, and my other bigger purple pincher Indigo. I haven't named the other smaller two yet, I need to learn their personalities more.
