What am I doing wrong?
I have/had 6 crabs the oldest I've had for 5.5 years and the youngest is 3 mo. The older ones are thriving and doing well. However, I decided to add a couple of new ones (not at the same time, and about 6 mo. apart) and I quarantined them. I added Scout who was really active and got along well with the other crabs. After about 3 months she buried herself and has been mia for a while. While I was cleaning the tank, I found her all stiff and not moving. She didn't smell so I put her back. I'm thinking tho that she is dead. About 2 months ago I adopted Pearl smaller crab) and she did real well. I just discovered her in the quarantine tank dead. Could it possibly be stress? What were the conditions like from where you got them?

They were ok, not great, typical Pet store, they had food and water a plastic plant and a log to hide under. I will say that Pearl's shell had 2 largish holes in them. She was excited when she got home and had her choice of several new shells. She chose a very nice one that fit her perfectly with room to grow and changed within 3 hours. So anyway, she appeared healthy (as far as you can tell) ate well, waters were available. Just no clue, probably stress.

It's very hard to diagnose without specifics. How long did you have each crab before it died? How long after you got Pearl did she bury herself?
