Re: Need some advice!
Thanks crabbyjo! Yea I remember reading about her...I hope banjo will be ok if she makes it through the molt. She's usually the first to dig down for a molt...so it kind of worries me. :/

Re: Need some advice!
Have 3 sides of the cage covered (corners are open to let some light in) so she isn't disturbed...I did notice while briefly peeking in that she changed shells again and is now in the big pot. She seems a little more comfortable (and not as swollen, but still a good size) now that she has more privacy. The cage is located in a spot in my room that I, and anyone else that comes in the room, has to pass right by it. I figured covering it would make her feel much more comfortable to do what she needs to.
Was I wrong in covering it? Did I cover too much?

Re: Need some advice!
As long as she's still getting a good day/night schedule of light and dark, then it's all good. Maybe just cover only the sides that are exposed to the most traffic to make sure and let enough light in?
Good idea though. Don't need more stress right?

Re: Need some advice!
I have about a 5 inch area that is still letting in light on 2 corners of the tank, so I think she's still getting a good light/dark schedule. I noticed while checking on water levels that she has moved into another shell, yet again.

Sounds like you've done pretty much all you can, good luck and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her!

Re: Need some advice!
I wonder if she'll choose to burrow down soon now that her swelling is going down? She's becoming more active as of this morning and is moving around the tank some...(as well as changing shells again)

Re: Need some advice!
She might, but there's really no way of being sure. Just keep an eye on her in case she decides to surface molt!

Re: Need some advice!
She has shed her shell and is running around the tank naked! I really hope she gets into another shell soon...she's sitting on a pile of them like she is trying to decide which one to choose... I hope I didn't disturb her too much...I was just checking water levels!
I have a thermostat on order and as soon as it comes in, will be setting up the 5.5 gal tank as a permanent iso tank. I have a 2 tank stand now, so can have both tanks going at once.
I'm really worried about her now!

Re: Need some advice!
Due to Skip threatening her while she was out of her shell, I went ahead and scooped her up with a plastic spoon and put her into a plastic container (which I put some wet moss in and spritzed the walls with water) with some shells, water and food to try to coax her into putting a shell back on. I hope I wasn't too terribly wrong in doing this, but I didn't want her to get attacked by the other crabs in the tank while she had no shell. :/

Re: Need some advice!
5:34 pm: That worked...she is back in a shell, but still in that container. I hope she will be ok.
10:00 pm: She's sitting on the food bowl in the container eating. I don't know if I should put her back in the main tank tonight or not. Any thoughts? The container she is in is not heated or anything, it was more just a temporary fix to try to get her to put a shell back on.
None of the other crabs are acting funny, so I'm assuming this just has to do with her being uncomfortable...she has been shell shopping a bunch...going through 3-4 shells a day. I sadly don't have any others that are her size, and have all sorts of sizes in there for her.
