Crawfish???? Safe to eat???

Ok so I live were Crawfish are super easy to find and catch.. Pretty good eats to.. Would it be ok to boil one of these guys in instant ocean and let my Hermies chow down???? SORRY if any of you have them as pets I know some people do....

I think they would be safe. Boil them in salt water as you said.

Living here in the U.S. myself, is there any leech bed type run off in the water you will be catching them from? If the water is fairly clean of well soaps and such too they should be fine. You may wish to soak them in ocean water for possibly 24 hours then microwave for a bit. (at least until they are steaming well) Boiling too long will take most of the nutrients out of them.

Hmm dunno they are dug down in the marsh here i was going to dig them up.. What about baking???

Baking wouldn't be too bad, but soaking in ocean water may also help...

Dunno, maybe Wai does? I am 1/2 afraid to answer this because a 'crawfish' in Aus. maybe something a bit different than here in U.S. like some other things/items are.

I thought they were more commonly called crayfish, who are shaped more like hermit crabs than true crabs.
