Re: Im not ready for this!!
They arent sectioned off at all. They all decided to do it right by the climbing wall. I dont think I can section them off, or at least I dont know how I would. If poe does what he seems to be doing he will be in full swing soon as well. I dont need to worry about them hurting each other or disturbing each other if they are all moulting do I? I have draped a pillow case over that side of the tank. The lamp is shining a bit on Lee still but not directly like it was. Poe has started settling in too...Moving the lamp will obviously turn the side of the tank they are on to the cool side. Also my humididty is staying at 80-82 now which is higher than it was by just a bit. I think it must have been the change to the Ocean brand salt water instead of the hermit crab stuff I was using before. It went up before I moved the lamp. I think im doing all I can now to facilitate this moult but if im wrong please let me know...and this is probably a silly question but if poe does start to moult do i still feed them like I was before? I will have no non moulters in the tank.

As suggested earlier in this thread, breath in..breath out.. repeat.
It maybe too that since they now have checked the environment out and feel comfortable they may also be relaxing now. This is not to say they may not have molting on their minds. Do you have a hut or such on that area of the tank? I agree with CrabbyJo, your temp is a bit warm. There should be a variable as she suggested due to them being cold blooded creatures.
And some hermies do recover faster than others, so if they do surface molt you may wish to be prepared as I suggested earlier.
To make that corner darker, do you have any cardboard you can tape on the outside of the tank on that side safely?

Marie, I think you meant the temps are a bit cool?
You said they are warm. Just so our friends don't get confused!
As for food, yes, keep foods in the tank, and refresh them often. When I had a molter alone in the tank (you have no idea if a crab will be down 5 days or 3 months) I kept food in there, but put minimal fresh food and kept some dried food that I could leave for a few days at a time. I kept the fresh and ocean salt water dishes freshened and changed at all times. You want them to have what they need if they come up in the middle of the night or any other time.
They shouldn't disturb each other if they are molting. Keep an eye out for activity on the substrate - if you have sand, smooth it out so you can see if there are little crabby footprints to the water or food dishes. they can come up in the night, have a nibble, then head back down again, covering their hole.
I think you mentioned a crab had put a shell in her tunnel entrance - I love when they do that, it's so cute. It's like they are trying to keep others out without plugging the hole with sand.

Re: Quick help!! Is he moulting? or gone?
Thanks for the catch CrabbyJo and you're right, I meant too cool.
(warmish side should be 78-80*F with cooler 71-73*F) crypticlaman with all you have provided that is about all a crabber can do at this point. The rest is up to them. We have all been in your situation, even many times over. One thing I can say is it is SOOOO much easier to sit here and type "Patience, breath in...breath out... repeat" when one is having one anxiety attack after another.
You have done all a human being can do, it is up to them now. But because of the anxiousness please rest assured we are here for you! Wanna pick up and check out the hermie? DO NOT!!! Come here and type instead.
