Oh my God, I cannot BELIEVE HOW ANGRY I AM RIGHT NOW

I am IN SHOCK here. This is absolutely unbelievable, I like, I don't know what to do with myself.


I just moved, and put my crabs into a 10 gallon spare tank because the 55 g is too big to move full. The next day? They're all dead.

Every one of them. Holy ****.


And then I get an email from an old housemate.


Hey, Catie! I noticed you took your tank out of the basement. I hope you didn't put your crabs in there because I used it to mix bleach water for cleaning! Sorry I didn't mention it before!

What the hell do I say to that? What do I do? My precious crabs! WHAT DO I DO????


Ugh. I'm so mad. I feel like going back and like, destroying her room. And I feel like the worst crab owner in the world. Why didn't I WASH the tank??? It was in the EXACT SAME POSITION! It was upside-down, I figured it would be fine for two days or something! Ugh. Ugh.

Ouch, I'm sorry to hear about that, Catie. As for what to do, I'd give yourself a day or so to try to calm down, and then talk to your roommate. Ask her why she used your tank for mixing bleach water in instead of a bucket or something. Then clean the 10g very well, and bury your poor crabbies.

Do you think you will get more? If so, do make sure that you clean both tanks very well. You know the big one wasn't used for bleach water (honestly, why would you use an animal's home for bleach water? That makes no sense to me), but just to be careful, I'd ensure both are very well cleaned before buying more. If your main tank is 55g, you could use it for ISO, but ensure before putting any crabs in it that they are mite-free, as it would be a royal pain in the rear end to have to empty it and clean it again for mites.

I think you should forgive and forget, it was an honest mistake cause by you and your room mate. It had a horrible result but you can't really do anything to reverse it.
