There is not a food that should be left within a tank due to mold for a week. (and their water should be checked and changed out too) Maybe you can write a note and place it somewhere to help remind yourself to care for your hermies? Somewhere you go to everyday... like the toilet, sink, refrigerator?

Very good idea!
If you do want some foods that you can leave in the tank for a few days (I have a dry food dish that I will sometimes leave for a week or more) in addition to your fresh food which should be removed daily (and should still be provided daily), you can check out http://keeponcrabbin.com/
Owned by a member here, Spidtat, who decided to start a line of hermie food himself. He also sells foods from Crabotanicals, a well established line of dried hermie foods.
I highly recommend any mixes that contain seaweed, as they should have seaweed daily, and it can be difficult to find more than spirulina and kelp in the grocery store, and the seaweed sheets at the pet store can get spendy.
Remember, they need that fresh food daily, but this is a nice supplement you can put in and leave for several days. Also remember that hermit crabs won't eat something they've eaten or smelled for 14hrs up to two weeks. I leave it in to give all my crabs (14) a chance to get some, since they don't all eat it the first day it's in.

I'm not sure if the food will get through Customs to the Philippines? But I like the alarm on the Ipod idea, anything to help remind you to feed the hermies.

I always change my food right before I brush my teeth before bed. That's my reminder. With dried foods (you can buy dried shrimp, bugs, etc. at pet stores that are crab-safe, and dry your own fruits and such if you want), they will last much longer in the tank, and you can leave them a day or two (my longest was two weeks when I was on Christmas, but both crabs were molting at the time and I piled the food REALLY high and had someone check on them for me). You can also look for dried fruits (ensure that they are only the fruit, not a dried candied fruit or anything like that...no added sugars or other stuff) in the grocery store.

Re: Is there a food that last a week for hermies?
Try feeding the animals at the same time daily, preferably when you can observe them. A) they will habituate to this and may move their active times to a more viewer friendly time slot and B) it becomes a habit for you. The reinforcement for you is you get to watch the crabs in action.

I've also noticed that leaving the food in all day gets some of the crabs out during the daytime. I've seen all of my Es out eating during the daytime when I leave their food in until the night when I change it.
