I'm so sorry to hear that, Slowbro. I'm glad that you were able to find out the cause of the problem and it wasn't just an unexplained death like so many crabbers have suffered. I'm sure that your crab is safe up there in crabby heaven!

I too am glad to hear you found the cause, but am so sorry you had to lose crabs to find it.

Slowbro I am ever so sorry to hear of your loss. We too lost one here years ago due to a crushed oyster shell puncturing a soft abdomen of King Crab and the oyster shell was in their food dish. Since then all crushed oyster shells have been ground into a powder form to offer in their food dish. They do seem to love the oyster shells, and it appears they do quite taking chunks out of their wearing shells to eat since we have offered this in their food dish.
