hermit behavior
Hello, I am new on this discussion site. However, I have had two hermit crabs for a while now. One for about 2 years and the other about 3 monthes. They both have always seemed pretty healthy and are very active in their tank. They have 2 pieces of climing wood, a large rock, a hanging net. I feed them a large variety of foods. My question is this: the older one just changed shells after I brought the newer one home. Before that, they got along fine but I would find them in different areas of the tank all the time. Now they are inseparateble. They hide under the same areas, they climb on the same branches. Is this normal?

Absolutely normal. I'm sure the one you've had for two years is very happy to have another tank mate. Hermit crabs are actually social creatures, and do prefer others of their kind around.
