Lost two legs on the same side

As I was cleaning out the tank lastnight, I found Unknown, my most shy crab. I just got him to come out a few minutes ago, and noticed that he has two legs missing on the same side. Will he beable to get around okay? It seems that he's changed shells somehow, so that must be a good sign. But will he beable to walk okay and get his water and food?

Yeah, he should be able to move around fine. He'll probably just use the claw on that side as a "leg" for walking purposes. You should give him the protein/calcium/chitin rich foods that he'll need to get new legs for his next molt though. And if you notice him having problems, you can always pick him up and move him to the food, water, etc.

Alright, thanks. He seems to be doing okay because he changed shells and all. Plus he's not just sitting there doing nothing. I hope that he molts soon.

Do you know how long it's been since he lost the legs? If he molts very soon after losing them, he might not regrow them this molt. Or if he does, I would think that they'd be much smaller than normal. I hate when they lose legs; one of my PPs lost one a few weeks ago, but they're so shy that I don't even know which one it is! Hopefully whoever it is will regrow it here soon.

I have no idea when he/she lost them. He/she doesn't come out much. He/she doesn't have any gel limbs, so i'm guessing he/she isn't going to molt anytime soon.
