Hermie-safe cleaner
OK, I have this pimp little rock (don't ask) that I want to put into the hermie tank. Its really cute, easy to climb, and has a hole in the middle, so I think it'll be fun for the hermit crabs. However, it was formerly in a fish tank and has some algea on it... its not covered in the stuff but it is green in some areas. What is a hermit-crab-safe cleanser that will get the algea off? Or is it OK to just leave it on??

Just boil it in some salt water. That'll kill the algae spores, if not remove the staining.
