Is my Crab Molting?

My second most active crab, Kradabra, has been gone over a week under the sand (he hasn't came up for water and I'm afraid to dig him up). Is he molting? I know he isn't dead because there is no terrible rotten cat food smell eating away my nose. So...is Kradabra molting or is he diing?

P.S. I read that I should only be concerned if he molts or trys to molt on the surface!

He is most likely molting. Depending on his size he may be down for a while. Just leave him alone.

He is the largest out of my 3 crabs...maybe he's hiding or something but I hope he doesn't die.

How large is that. You may want to read the molting part of the crab care, it can answer your questions.

Your hermit crab is probably moulting because he isn't smelling and if he was dying he would be half way out of his shell. I suggest that you move him away from the other hermit crabs so he doesn't get cannabalized.
