Okay...I just got a new crab yesterday and put him in my tank in the middle by the food/water bowls with his new brothers (I got them less than a week ago from the same place, so I didn't do the iso tank thing). As of this morning, he'd dug two holes. One was next to one end of the driftwood I have for them to climb, and the other, which he was in, is under the opposite end of the climbing wood. He's chilling out under there (I've checked twice to ensure he's alive as he's a actually an "exchange" for the other crab I'd gotten who died within 24 hours...I think honestly he waited too long to molt and it killed him) and is alive, but I'm not sure what's up with him.
At the store where I got him, he was hiding at the back of the cage as close to the back wall as he could. I don't blame him - the conditions there were awful (there was a dead crab and fruit flies in there, as well as several dropped legs and pinchers) but...he was very active on the way home - did laps around his carrier, tried to climb out, etc. As soon as he went into the cage, he "clammed up" and stopped moving, until it got dark, and I know he didn't eat anything and he's now hiding in his little hole.
Do you think he's just destressing or is he going to molt?

I'm guessing he's just destressing. Just give him time and he might turn active.
