What should I do?

I recently got another small E to provide company with my other E, the PP's have buddies, so I wanted my E to have 1 too. The new guy was climbing around and doing his own thing, then he went into the cave and the older E jumped at him and had his legs on him, I quickly scared the old guy into withdrawing into the cave, and now the new E is sitting alone....what Do I do? was it about to be a shell fight, cause they both have good fitting shells and I hear E's rarely change shells?

The only thing I can say is maybe try to bathe all of them together in some salt water so they all smell the same. I am kinda having that problem too. My new one that I had for 2 days now is lonely. I got him because Soupy was still down and Kermi was lonely and so I got Orangy and now she is lonely since Soupy came back up and Kermi and Soupy are going everywhere together. My husband will be mad if I go get another one for Orangy since he looked at me weird the other day when I can home with her. He gave me that "why" look and like "I am mad" look, but never would say if he was mad. I bathed them all together this morning and they still won't go near Orangy. Orangy is shy and skiddish so I am not sure if that is why either. I would say just watch them closely and maybe by the end of the day they will either leave the new one alone or become friends. I am not sure how long it takes for them to like the new guy but it was just Kermi and Orangy for the last 2 days and Kermi was all mad at Orangy and then when Soupy came up Kermi and Soupy will not leave eachothers sides.

After a salt water bath, just leave them be. They will get to know each other. It just may take time.

Chermo - as for Orangy, she is probably really shy and besides, you just got her. She has to adjust.

Erick - when that happens again, just take the bully one and put him in a corner of the tank. Give a stern voice like a parent. Usually this will work. Or, put him in one of the water pools/dishes (cool him off). I did that and the aggression stopped.

Thanks, I know it take a while but I don't like that Kermi and Soupy don't play with her. I guess with time they will. Orangy seems so lonely right now but maybe it is just because she is shy I guess time will tell.

I read that when you get a new hermie that you give them a bath and (if you have a ISO) put them in the ISO for two weeks. You can let the new hermi hang out in the main tank with the others for how ever long until you got to bed then put the new hermie back in the ISO. I would do this so that they can get use to each other and yet the new hermie is safe from any fights.

However Gilbert has been in the tank for about 2 days, he likes it. He found his own space. Either under the wood log, or more often up on top of the branch in the plants.

Garth will learn right? He'll learn that he can't pick on Gilbert. I guess he's upset that he didn't have a "feeler war" with Gilbert and now some crab he doesn't know comes into the cave

I think Xavi will be surprised when he comes up from his molt and sees a new crab

Well last night Kermi and Soupy were playing with Orangy, but when it was just Kermi and Orangy by the food dish with the last of Kermi's exo in it, Orangy was pushing Kermi away from the dish and Orangy sat on the dish. I was kinda upset about Orangy pushing Kermi that I moved Orangy off the dish and moved some of the exo to another shell for Orangy and let Kermi eat what she wanted of her own exo. I usually don't bother them when it comes to food but I don't like pushing and it was Kermi's exo so I figured it was her's first then Orangy could eat what Kermi left. I probably should not have done that but I was angry and it took over and I did. Now Orangy is digging so she is either destressing or getting ready to molt which would be great, she is fully under the sand now I can't see her so I am just leaving her be and seeing what happens.

I think Kermi should eat her own exo. If the other crabs have a taste for it, you can feed them whole shrimp with honey. Yummy

They do get kind of pushy. Today as I was taking stock of my tank, James was in a hidie and Digger went in and pushed James out. James came out rolling. It was pretty funny to watch. I put James in another hidie and he stayed there until just a little while ago. He was at the food dish eating peacefully (no one else was up yet).

Well I haven't seen any fights between Gilbert and Garth. Garth stays in the cave while Gilbert climbs around all day. He sleeps up high on a branch between some fake plants
