DUG UP MOLTER!!!!

Post by krabby_katie »

Oh my god! Cosmo just dug up Hubert, who was molting! He seems fine, and stuff. He's not soft, or anything. I'm scared that he'll be all stressed now! I can't even put him in iso because Jorgen is surface molting right now! Frig, I'm so scared for him! (He grew A LOT in his molt, just thought I'd mention it)

i've read that you can section them off from others with half of a 2 liter soda bottle and leave the cap off for air.

That's actually what I did. I guess I didn't push it in deep enough. Both of my molters were dug up. :(

i hope theyre ok. you should try it with just the bottom cut off and leave as much of the bottle as you can.

I put Hubert in a little container with sand and junk. Xena is back in the main tank. She's digging a lot. She doesn't look good. She's VERY slow. She's half out of her shell a lot. Sometimes I think she's dead, but she's not. It's scary!

I think Jorgen might be okay! I looked in the iso tank, and there was a little shrimp drug hald way across the tank! He came out and I feed him some honey with powdered cuttlebone on it (as Wai suggested). He actually ate it too! I hope he makes it. He's getting some color now. He's getting more orange. His big claw is still a fade purple color, but it's coming along. Thanks for the adivce Wai! :D

I recommend hand-feeding because from my experience, it has worked every time trying to get some nutrients into those who aren't eating on their own.
