Crab Fight

My sister has 2 hermit crabs - Hermie & Patty - that she has had for the last 2 1/2 years.

Tonight when she got home, Patty was standing over Hermie - he was out of his shell and 2 of his legs were torn off. She put Patty in iso & cleaned Hermie off & has gotten him to go a little bit back into his shell. He doesn't seem to go all the way in. He is also in iso. Poor little guy!

Does anyone have any suggestions of what she can do for Hermie? He is such a sweet crab.
He made it through a molt last year & regrew his little claw.

Any & all help is greatly appreciated!!!!

be sure to boil the shell you put him in so you know nothings in it, dip his abdomen in some warm salt water, and see if you can put him in his shell. maybe it would be easier on him if you hand fed him some honey, peanut butter,& mushy good food that he doesnt need a big claw to break apart

Unfortunatley Hermie didn't make it. Poor little thing. He was such a sweet, lovable crab. Doesn't seem fair at all. He had such a great disposition. I know my sister really misses him.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your lose. I had the same thing happen to one of my hermies when I first got them. Thank God I have not had any more since then and it has been almost 3 years now.
