Are they actually molting?
Okay, so this is about the tenth time I thought Xena was molting. Is she this time? I'll post a picture. She the one my the Hermie Hut. Also, I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure it's Hubert that's molting too. I can find everyone else, but him. There a little mound of dug up sand behind the barnacle cluster. I'm almost positive it's him. So, are these guys molting?

That mound of dirt looks exactly like the mound in the corner of my tank lol, so fingers crossed your little crabby is in there. Maybe Xena can't decide where she wants to mould, Greg has been digging down for the past few days, but not burying until now, so maybe she's doing that...

Re: Are they actually molting?
She's been covered for a while now. She's fully burried. Hubert is in there, because he cleared away some sand near the side of the tank, so I could see him in there. I'm in PEI right now though... My mom is taking care of some of them now. I have some of them with me. Hope everything goes well with the two.

Re: Are they actually molting?
Thanks. Mom said that none of them have surfaced yet. They won't be up for a while, they're decent mediums.

Re: Are they actually molting?
I have one that is burried like that right now, I just got mine 6 days ago and the 1 is almost totally covered. He has been digging holes but then stopping when he thinks he digs enough and starts to sleep in it so I never thought anything about molting until this morning when I can only see a small part of his shell sticking out of the sand. He has been shy with me but I figured he was shy because he was in a pet store when I bought him. Wow I may have a molter too. I think that would be so cool. Oh yippee, my new shells come today too. Just in time for him to molt and find a new shell if he needs one. I hope he does since his painted shell he came in is chipping. He is small too so how long abouts does it take for a small crab to molt?

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

Re: Are they actually molting?
Less than a week I'd say. My Cosmo molted in a day, and she's a medium crab.
I couldn't believe it.
