Well first of all welcome to the forum.
If your worried about them eating just know that hermits only eat a little bit very slowly so it may seem like they arent eating at all... but they are! also what are you feeding them? if its commercial food, GET RID OF IT! storebought foods contain very harmful chemicals to crabs and will eventually kill them. Try giving them a variety of fresh fruit and veggies.
About the molting crab: whatever you do dont dig it up. Molting is a stressful time for crabs and digging them up would just make matters worse. make sure your temp and humidty are about 78 and make sure your slatwater is abundant. other than that you have to wait it out.
*provide a calcium source like eggshells or cuttlebone to aid your freshly motled crabs in hardening.

Welcome to the forums and the fun world of crabbing. Just because they change shells doesn't mean they are gonna molt. It could be for several reasons. Such as: if the shell it was in was painted they prefer natural shells. The shell could be to small. It could have something in it that has made the shell uncomfortable. Most hermies are forced into to painted shells to attract people to buy them. Good luck. Keep us posted.
