It's a ghost town!!!

We have only had our crabs for about 10 days. Our "shy" crab, Pete lost his pincher over night. Today at lunch, he'd dug down into the sand...

Our OTHER two crabbies, Bob & Wally were really active crabs, ate like pigs and now have buried themselves into the forest bedding...so deep I don't know where they are!

I'm stressing so much I'm worried I'm going to lose a limb too!

Help???

Any help or advice is welcome...fyi here's some info...

10G aquarium, temp is about 75, Humidity around 83%. They have dechlorinated water in a pool with a sea sponge, and two beach ball humidity sponges. The tank is half sand/calcisand and forest bedding. They get fresh fruit, eggshells, carrots, apples etc. in addition to crab food. No fishy smells.

I'd apprecaite any imput!

I'm really worried.

Well Pete was by the water dish this morning, missing three more legs. I don't know what to do!

The other two are still MIA

I would say the other 2 are molting if you can see the bottom of your tank look under it, usually you can see them cause they usually go all the way to the bottom. Losing the legs hmmm... I have not had much luck when I have them and they lose their legs. However, I have bought them when they are missing legs and pinchers and they are doing ok. A few have even molted and grew them back. Sometimes they lose them due to stress.

Well, we ended up losing Pete today.

However, I did talk to a guy who knew where I bought him even before I told him. Seems this kiosk is KNOWN for stressing out the crabs badly.

Signs of life from Bob & Wally today! YEAH!

Bob & Pete came from the same place. Wally came from Petsmart.

Bob seems to be doing much better. Wally still is hiding, but he's newer too.

My two new babies came from another pet store...actually the place where I talked to this guy.

My two new ones are seemingly doing just fine.

i talked to the people of the store where i buy my hermies and everyone knew a lot about hermies and offered advice, so i knew i was getting hermies from people who knew how to take care of them. all together i've gotten about 10 from this place, i've had to return 2 (too aggressive) and i've lost 4. the rest are good!

btw, don't dig up any crabs that have buried themselves. sounds like they're comfortable and plan to molt which is an awesome sign, since you haven't had them for very long! congrats! depending on their size, depends on how long they stay down. lemi, ike, and bebe are about 1 inch with their shells (small). they molt for about 3-4 weeks. wendy and aries are about 2-2.5 with their shells (medium) and they stay under for about 4-5 weeks. aries should be coming up soon from his first molt! i'm excited! zeus and athena are about 4 inches with their shells (large) and should stay under for about 6 weeks. it's just a lot of patience! when they do come up, they will have sharp black tips on their legs, and they can be painful! wendy likes to climb up my arm sometimes but i won't let her after she's molted bc those things hurt! lol

Can hermit crabs Die from lonelyness cuz i only have 1 crab i think hes doing fine. b4 he was just in a corner and Since i put the Platic wrap over the fliter thing (i left a 1/2 inch open) hes been Walkin around..He eat something today he ate a raisen its the 1st time he ate since i got him wedns! i think hes doing fine...But im thinkin of Buyin another hermit crab or gettin one from a friend (tht dont take care of hers).

*answer this question thought please..Can hermits die from lonelyness?do u think i should get another hermit crab or Wait?*
