YEA!!!!!

Post by Jaci »

bebe and wendy came up from their 1st molts successfully. bebe has changed shells and she can't be seen anymore when she goes all the way in. it's funny. wendy is going to have to get a new shell this week in case she wants to change. she's in the biggest shell i had. lemi has gone under for his 2nd molt. he's changed places 3 times. now he's by the salt water pond and has been there for about 4 days. if he doesn't come up today, he has found the perfect molting spot. :) bebe should be going back under for her 2nd molt about the same time lemi should be coming back up. i'm also working on changing the sand from all calci to 3/4 play, 1/4 calci. i've changed / mixed the sand on 1/2 of the tank. i'm leaving the other half, where Lemi is obviously, alone until he resurfaces. :) so 3 successful molts for me!

how big is your tank? calci sand is used moslty for the crabs to eat. have you ever tried crab soil? the crabbies love it!!!! they like to dig in it. :D it also raises the humdity a bit. For me it costs about $2.49

I have used that before and it is good. You soak it in water and it swells up. It has direvtions on it you can't see them til you open it.

you can use it however you like. I like to have part of my tank covered in it so the crabs can choose was substrtae they want to stay on.
