bits and pieces

Hi
I checked my boys last evening and all OK,also this morning everything quiet. At six I put their fresh food in tank and noticed one shell that didn't seem to belong where it was ,so Looked at shell and saw nothing unusual so I looked behind a piece of cork they sometimes go behind and there I found a crab in pieces .The body was whole but the large claw and legs were strewn about ,he was cold so I am sure it is not a moulting .The only thing think of is a fight .I had this fellow for about two months so he wasn't stressed . Any other thoughts on this matter ? I will take the boys out tomorrow and look for another damaged crab .

That's awful... do the eyes look transparent? Is the body light and feels hollow? If not and the body feels quite solid, then it may have been murder.

that's so weird. how can crabs just, all of a sudden start a fight? that's so weird...!! ! ! ! ! !

how awful. i try to get mild tempered hermies which ignore their siblings...i just cross my fingers that they're ok while i'm gone. i have 2 under in the same area of the tank, but they are both still under, and they aren't very close. so i'm sure they're fine. i'm sorry to hear about your crab.
