worms and flying things...
when I did a deep clean I made it so my tank had half sand and half coconut husk. But ever since I put in coco husk I got bugs,so I deciced to do a deep clean and change the subsrate,(still half coco husk and sand because I did not realize it was the coco husk...)And I still had bugs!the bugs were brown flying insects that were to small for a fly and the other bugs I saw were white worms!how do I get rid of the bugs without having to switch to all of the tank being sand?

Re: worms and flying things...
Did you expand the coco bedding with boiling fresh water and let it cool prior to adding it to the tank? The flying little brown pest sound like fruit flies where as the white little worms are either larvae of some sort ready to grow and become adult pests, or maggots. (still about to grow into adults)
Other than a complete bake, boil, and wash with hot water and vinegar.... or you could try to use apple cider vinegar, sugar and water outside of the tank (like suggested to another member) but this will do nothing to the larvae/worms you are seeing.

When you do your baking/boiling, remember to also give the hermies an ocean/sea salt bath too. Place them in the water shell opening up so they need to turn themselves over and flush out their shells in case they have a pest or so in their shells too.

Oh dear. That's why I don't use coconut fibre anymore. Some people have never had problems with coconut fibre, but my tank got invaded by nasties not long after I mixed coconut fibre in with the sand.
