moon phases

T onight it's a full moon here.I watch alot of nature programs.The moon causes the tides on beaches.Also causes coral to release eggs @ sperm to release (fertilization).Some scientists believe the moon phases cause different behavior in animals @ people too.My question is,if hermit crabs live in tropical places,(beaches)where there are tides do the moon phases effect their behavior? Are they more active,their breeding,appetite,are they more aggressive?Act differently in any way? I am really curios about this.Many policemen comment that their calls go up alot on a full moon! People act up more!!!Does this effect their molting habits?

I believe that females release their eggs into the ocean at full moon, but I'm not 100% sure and don't remember where I heard it.
