Hi everybody,
I'm not a hermit owner and/or expert. I photograph all kinds of under-water-organisms and try to identify them. All books which I use when identifying these organisms display only hermits with dark eyes and dark or red legs.
I shot this picture http://www.hermitcrabparadise.com/galle ... at=0&pos=0 in Egypt in October 2009. The image is not perfect but as you can see, this hermit has light gray eyes and the body isn't dark or red.
Can somebody tell me the name of this species? Thanks in advance!

Hi Grayowl,
unfortunately, you've come to a website dedicated to land hermit crabs. May I suggest visiting a Reef forum, frequented by salt water tank enthusiasts? They are more likely to know their marine hermit crabs.
Good luck!

Re: not identified hermit in the Red Sea
That hermit crab is a marine hermit crab. I'm sorry, but I doubt anyone here has any idea of what species it is.
