How Many Crabs in 10G
heyy! just a quick ?. how many hermit crabs can be housed in a 10 gallon tank?

Most people say 10 small hermit crabs, but I suggest no more than five small hermit crabs in a 10 gallon tank. You must give them adequate room to spread themselves out when they want to moult.

Additionally, the more crabs you have in a tank, the less room they each have to get exercise. So if you do put even just 5 small crabs in a 10g, you should take them out often for additional exercise - check out the exercise forum for some ideas of how you can do that!

Pk, it does say "New" in yellow so it has been updated.

Possibly the number should be changed from 10 small hermies to 5? With the type of water sources, shells, etc. a hermie needs even 10 small could be crowded. (unless they are micro's and it is specified as micro hermies)
