crule artical about crabs

Post by crabcrazygal »

i just read a artical on crabs, and this is what it said:
how to train ur crab to walk on a lead. step one. glue a smal metel ring to one of the shells ur crab will move into
step two create a removable small lead that can be attached to the ring
step three patiently get them used to ur guidance as they walk.

i recon that it is really crule, what r ur opinions (?)

Honestly, it is mean, mostly because your crab will think that the shell he's in is the best around...until you've glued stuff on it. The crab will change to another shell rather quickly once it realizes how bad its current one now is.

Also, I hate when people try to turn pets (like crabs) into other pets (like dogs). Hermit crab owners should learn to enjoy hermit crab things, not try to turn crabs into something other than they are. Also, I doubt if a crab would ever "get used to your lead." That's just ridiculous...they aren't dogs, they don't think like dogs, they'll never be able to think like dogs. If you want a dog, buy a dog, not a crab. End of story.

LOL But I do tie a ribbon to their shells sometimes and I walk them like a doggie on a leash. It keeps them from getting lost.

Instead of tieing a ribbon to them put them in the smallest hamster ball you can find. I have one and my crabs like it and they don't get lost.

Due to family issues my crabs have been adopted out to wizkidsmom (Cheryl), I know she will care for them like I did. Thanks Cheryl

I did happen to see that article and as soon as I saw the word "glue" I lost all interest. I like the shells the way they are. If my crab is going to come out for exercise he's going to have an area that's safe so he can go wherever he wants. I don't think they need to be on a leash.

XD XD You must remember this is crabs. Not cats and dogs: not humans. But anyway, you're statement was pretty funny, deathbatbabe as I have a rather vivid imagination. :D

the worst part about the artical, is that it was in a magazine, that was free with newspaper, and was all about pets!
crabs:bino, junior,kim, and vixen
dogs: ella, shannon
cats:milo, poppy
and two budgies: romeo and big bird
