I am looking in to getting a hermit crab and heard that you should get more than 1 is this true? How large of a tank should I have, and is there anything I should have in it other than the 2 water dishes and sand. I also heard that you need a separate tank for when they molt is this true, and is there anything diffrent that needs to be in this tank that is not in the other, do you need the water bowls exc. Any information will be helpful, thanks.

Yes, hermit crabs should have at least a 'buddy' in the tank to live with. In the wild, they can live up to groups of 100 crabs!
Don't forget to put in plastic toys and rocks for them to climb on for exercise. What wil you use for a heat source? We recommend an undertank heater, that's been the most effective.
You will need a second tank known as the isolation unit for molting or stressed crabs. You can also use the ISO for new crabs about to join the 'family'.
I think a 10 gallon tank would do for now, if you are planning to adopt 2 hermies.
