Goodies stolen in the night

Post by babesbarn »

I thought you were all kidding with the foods that Hermies go "chirp" for! Came home from the movies last night and threw in two or three curnels of popcorn. I also placed some scredded cooked chicken breast and a unsalted chopped piece of walnut. OMG..GONE (most of it) I know i filled the dish up and I just wish I had seen the action when they went for it. Since I placed it in their dish about an hour before I went to bed, they must have anxiously been sniffing the goodies and planning their attack. Tonight will be carrots and will check out some other stuff on the list. I know they all like a bit of crust of bread too because its always gone.

I gave them broccoli steamed this week and you would think a tornado hit the beach! They dragged it all over the place and the coconut substate was a mess!

Mines favorite is bird seed, especially sunflower seeds but I make a mix up for them of various things and the first to be eaten is always the bird seed (cockatiel mix specifically)

And funnily enough the only thing they have never touched is the hermit crab food I bought when we first got them. I mixed it into their dry food mix and everytime I change it it's always the only thing not touched.

Hermit crab food from many years ago was never touched either. Sponge cake was the biggest hit ever, but please, everyone, don't feed your hermit crabs any sponge cake unless you know its composition to be safe!

Spider love Hikari hermit crab cuisine. Lady likes mango and raisins. Kong likes oranges and chicken bone marrow. Vern likes oranges and pineapples. Of course I feed them all kinds of stuff that I get from hermit crab addiction plus fresh food but these are what each likes best.

Please do be carefull with the Hikari hermit crab cuisine. The ingredents are
White Fish Meal, Wheat Flour, Rice Bran, Soybean Meal Corn Gluten Meal, Brewer's Dried Yeast, Protease, Salt, Vitamin A, Vitamin D3, Vitamin E, Vitamin K3, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Niacine, Pantothenic Acid, Pyridoxine, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Inositol, Choline Chloride, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate, Calcium Iodate, Manganese Sulfate, and Magnesium Carbonate. http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... atid=19334 All the things i put in bold look unsafe for hermit crabs. I would stick to raw foods like fruits, veggies, meats, etc.
