Re: The horror behind painted shells
I have adopted (Hermies that were returned) several "painted" Hermies from Petco & Petsmart and I have two that will not change there shells. I have offered several shells there size and they did try them on, but went back to there paint shells. I do not know what else to do.

Some will be more inclined to change shells after moulting, so be patient. You can also provide unpainted versions of the shells they are wearing.

Re: The horror behind painted shells
Try washing the other shells in saltwater that will sometimes help get them to change shells because they smell like new shells that washed up on the beach.
