I am running out of Ideas about what to serve my Crew for Dinner!!!
It is harder than I thought to come up with something different every day....
I am hoping to start a thread where we can 'swap recipes'!
We will be serving:
Cracked Chicken Bone with Meat
Carrot, Corn, Seaweed and Peppers
Dried Cranberry, Peach and a Paste made of Peanut Butter, Walnut, Sesame Seed and Oil, Honey and Wild Rice
Eggshell, Cuttlebone and Seasalt served in a Shell (always available)
Everything Organic
Last nights Dinner:
Pork, pan fried in Olive Oil
Squash, Celery Leaf, Red Cabbage and Parsley
Dried Blueberry, Banana and Apple
Eggshell, Cuttlebone and Seasalt served in a Shell (always available)
I don't really spend any extra money on Crab Food. Just put small portions away for them when I cook for my family! (Ok, I did buy the Cuddlebone for the Crabs. For some reason the kids don't like it!)

Re: What is for Dinner tonight?
I think this is a great meal for crabs! I feel bad because I only put 3-4 things out every night. And some kind of leaf for munching! Maple leaf is current!

Re: I NEED RECIPIES+ I WILL SHARE MINE
I had little time for Crab Dinner tonight. The kids had their football/cheerleading picture taken and it took forever....
Once home I scrambled an egg, added some freeze dried bloodworms and shrimp, oak leafs, seaweed and a diced cherry tomato from our garden.
Brushed a small bowl with some olive oil and nuked the whole thing for 45 seconds in my microwave.
THE SMELL WAS SO BAD... MY HUSBAND THOUGHT THE DOG POOPED IN THE KITCHEN!
(something she has never done!!!)
I let it cool of a bit, cut a small cube and placed it into the food bowl with a slice of banana and a drop of honey.
15 min. later ALL the crabs were eating! Even the two that spent the last few days underground!
I learned something new! The smellier the food, the better for my crabs

Hermitcrablove12 please read the postings on the pages in this thread, and browsing the Nutrition topic area also has loads of information.

How do I prepare these foods for my crabs?
So I just ordered an organic hemp net from the addiction store. (hermitcrabaddictionstore.com) It came with a few free samples, but I'm not sure how to feed them to my crabs. I just found the commercial food i've been using on the "Do not feed" list, so I'm switching to organic fruits & veggies, but I"m not sure how to prepare these samples. So,
I got:
1)A Gogi Berry
2)Pumpkin Seeds
3)Millet Puffs
4)Popcorn (Unpopped)
5)Flattened Rice
6)Bee Pollen
7)Hempseeds
8)Lentil Mix
9)A small (slightly crushed) Starfish
So, how do I feed these to my crabs? Do I cook the Lentils, pop the Popcorn, feed them the star fish, and grow the Hempseeds? Sorry, i'm pretty new to the whole 'hermit crab nutrition' thing. Also, the past couple days, I've fed them a mix some small carrot bits, mango pieces, bluberry pieces, and coconut pieces with a bit of peanut butter. Is that okay? And lastly, the coconut pieces were taken from some Filipino coconut juice that contained small coconut pieces. I strained the liquid and kept the small pieces and added it to their food bowl. Was this safe?
Thanks! Any advice would help. :)

Tasty recipe!
1 tablespoon of organic honey
1 tablespoon of organic strawberry jam (Or a half starwberr)
2 crushed almonds
Mix it together and let it settle for a moment then serve! It's only a treat though. My crabs loved it!
