Galletagirl,
That's great, they will so appreciate the temperature difference, my crabs roam all over each end of my tank with about a 10* difference between the two!
Did you put the UTH on the bottom of the tank? If so, do you have a temperature probe you can insert into the substrate (all the way to the glass) to see what temperature the UTH is bringing the substrate up to? So often we forget about substrate temperature!

Yes the UTH is on the bottom of the tanks
, i have a little thermometer on each side of the tank all the way to the bottom to make sure the temperature is correct :]

That's a good idea, I end up just pushing a probe in every once in a while to double check! Except on my rock garden. I set the probe so it touches the glass on the center area of the UTH where the rocks sit.
Are your thermometers on the sides of the tank? If so, the one on the UTH end is not going to give you an accurate reading for the temp of the substrate that is directly over the UTH. In that case you'll want to push a probe down into the center over the middle of the UTH to make sure its ok, and maybe it will give you an idea of what the temp difference is between where your thermometer is and where the UTH sticks, since it doesn't extend all the way to the sides.
