Snicsnacmama I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I agree with CrabbyJo, there is a very high likely hood that she was not well when you brought her home.

Crabby Jo, LadyBug Thanks so much for your kind words. I had wondered that myself. I am just glad she is peaceful now and not stressed out and suffering. The other three seem to be doing well. One of them hangs in the tree all day. He appears very relaxed and unperturbed by us. He very rarely goes all the way in to his shell and wanders freely at night. The other two burrow during the day then come out at night and apparently cause a hurricane in the tank as all the water pools are empty or nearly. the food offerings are strewn about and the things are generally churned up and rearranged. The largest one, Goliath, has created a burrow, whose entrance is right below the food dish. I did not notice he had dug there until last night when I went to put in fresh food, I lifted the dish and underneath was a hole in the substrate with a startled crab inside. This morning it is a huge hole that is just the opening to a burrow. :) they are fascinating creatures.

***** I just wanted to thank all of you again who took the time to post on this topic. All your posts were greatly appreciated.*****
