moulting?

Questions about hermit crabs moulting and its symptoms.

If you saw him with his exoskeleton, the molted on the surface. If he had burrowed and molted he would have remained under the substrate until he had eaten all his exo.
Do try not to disturb him any more, resist the temptation to peek at him. he is in a very fragile state, and you should make sure and section him off from all the other hermies so they aren't attracted by the molting "smell" coming off him and his exo. They will easily take his exo and could even hurt him as well, since his new exo is still soft and he can't defend himself.

Make sure he has fresh and ocean salt water, and when he's done with his exo, some organic honey and maybe some crushed cuttlebone and freeze dried shrimp would be a good idea as well.

right now he ate all oof his exoskeleton and walking around with this bright red skin :) it looks so cool!
