I'm glad you are feeling so confident, I hope it all works out well. 
Feel free to give your hermies even better than the pet store had. Fresh foods are so much better, so it would be better to buy your hermie foods from someplace like the http://www.hermitcrabaddictionstore.com ... on%20store or http://www.thecrabbagepatch.com/HERMIT- ... TREATS.htm
And Hon, while you did great in setting up their tank to be like the pet store, what I meant when I said to set it up to pet store conditions was the temperature and the humidity level, really. That's a pretty important part.
Did they have their hermies in a tank with gauges so you could see the temperature and humidity?

thanks again. Yes, i do have temp and humidity gauges, but i didn't pay attention to what temperatures and % of humidity the petstore had. Thank you soo much for helping, Reef is still alive, and i am just about to put him into his little hamster ball for some exersise. ill ask if i have any more questions!
