are you sure he molted the first time? My crabs like to dig down for a couple days then they come back up and go back down.

Hermies have been known to come up for food and water and return to their cave. All hermies are different though. There is the "traditional molt times" but only sometimes do the hermies follow that lol. They know what they're doing more than we ever will lol.
