Lucky Charms

Post by krabby_katie »

So, I've heard that Lucky Charms cereal (minus the marshmellows) are crab safe. Is this actually true? The cereal seems to have a little sugary glaze on it. I was just wondering if it is safe for them to eat or not.

Yeah. I've also heard about cap'n crunch. Mine LOVE cap'n crunch. I don't feed it to them much, because i'm not sure if it's completely safe for them. There isn't much sugar in them. I've seen it on "Safe Food Lists" before.

I wouldn't feed any sugary cereals at all. Crabs eat so little to begin with that I want every bite to be highly nutritious.

Yeah, that's true. My crabs don't seem to like anything that I give them aside from cap'n crunch. The only other thing they'll eat is dried bananas, but they don't eat much of it. My hermies are picky little things. :(

popcorn is like that too. It is low in nutrition, but isn't as bad as something sugary, but still, if I feed them popcorn, they won't eat anything else. That is how I got the idea for Kelp Korn: I dusted popcorn with spirulina and kelp so that at least they're getting something super nutritious along with it.

Hmm... That's a neat idea. I should somehow try that with lucky charms and cap'n crunch. :P
