to dry food or to wet food.. hmm..

Post by zeren0509 »

i had just started to give my crab fish food flakes (for tropical fish) last two weeks. it is supposed to enhance colors. the ingredients includes carotenes, fish, anchovies, spirulina and other stuff too..

anyway, since then, hes been rejecting fresh foods. i mean, i left him lots of fruits, cooked rice and all. just to make sure, i hand fed him, but he eats a litle and pushed the rest away.

so, since then, i put the flakes everyday for him..

have anyone experiences this..?

I heard that you can feed them fish food too. I don't personally, but I have heard in numerous places. Let me get back to you, I'll post the link(s).

If I feed them commercial food then it's "FMR Land Hermit Crab Food"

i'm not sure i would trust fish food simply bc it could have thing that hermies aren't supposed to eat. i'd stick with fresh foods and only the natural kind of commercial food.

:D gee so many replies.. mustve been im really bz theehe

yeah.. i know they should be provided fresh foods but i put like tonnes of it in their tank.. but none seem to touch it. they all went for the fish flakes..they just cant get enough of it..

one funny thing i observed though is that, once they ate some of the flakes, they will rush to the nearby water supply (must be bcos their mouth getting dry and all ;p). and then went back for some more flakes.. quite fun to watch, though it ended up making the tank messy with damp flakes everywhere lol

oh yeah, i noticed that their color is getting darker too.. hmm..

You could be on to something then. The darker the color the healthier the crab. Keep us posted.

iluvhermies is right. if it works for you, then keep it up, especially if they are showing no signs of illness.

I guess in a way hermies are like people, "we are all different and like different foods and are affected by foods in different ways.
