Oatmeal for Hermit Crabs???

Post by z06vette387 »

Hello,

Do you feed them plain quaker oatmeal? Do you have to cook it, or give it to them dry?

is there a certain type of honey to use? i love the spun honey that's 100% pure, but i can't find anyone who sells it anymore. it's like it's going away completely and all that's left is that bear honey...not sure i care for that gooey stuff....

oats

Post by Jedi_Sena »

Oats are great. Use the old-fashioned kind if possible. The instant stuff isn't as good and the flavored stuff is loaded w/ sugar.

Honey is very nutritious too. Raw, unfiltered honey is best and I find it at the regular grocery store.

HONEY BEAR

Post by Jedi_Sena »

No, I think the bear honey is filtered, but it is okay, just not as good as the raw unfiltered in a plain-label, plain bottle.

HONEY JAR

Post by Jedi_Sena »

The kind I find is available in sqeeze bottle or a glass jar. I usually buy the jar because it is larger.

i'll have to keep my eye out for it. my fav kind of honey was called clover, i think. it was in a round plastic container and had clovers and their flowers on the front. you had to take the honey out with a knife. but i'll look for the kind that you get.
